The interesting different between Tchalla and Thor

Tchalla reaction when he met his father again after discovering his father past deeds.

Tchalla : “You were wrong !! All of you are wrong !!”

Tchalla clearly recognized his father (and some of his countrymen who contributed mistakes and pointing it out, rather than clearly ignored it like it was nothing.

Thor reaction when he met with his father again after discovering his father past deeds.

Thor : “I can’t do it, I am not as strong as you !”

Thor, on the other hand, chose to ignored his father wrong doings like it was never existed and seek his father suggestion without questioning it any further.

One can tell who has the more common sense between the two of them.

The worst part is, Thor prior to Ragnarok reached a point where he could and did challenge/sort of condemn Odin, at least until doing so ended in his plan failing and Loki dying.

Odin: If and when he comes, his men will fall on ten thousand Asgardian blades.
Thor: And how many of our men shall fall on theirs?
Odin: As many as are needed! We will fight! To the last Asgardian breath. To the last drop of Asgardian blood.
Thor: Then how are you different from Malekith?

(I love that scene–Odin’s line at the end gives me chills. The delivery!)

The complete and utter inability to recognize obvious moral deficiencies when they’re literally shouting in your face isn’t one of Thor’s character flaws. He does cling to Odin’s righteousness more so than Loki or Hela, and excuses Odin’s treatment of Loki (and him) throughout the movies (very much a character flaw), but he absolutely can and does condemn Odin when Odin’s targets are innocent victims (Loki’s never been Odin’s victim in Thor’s opinion, so that’s where Thor’s flaws factor in).

Thor would yell at Odin the way T’Challa yells at T’Chaka and his other ancestors. The character we see in Ragnarok isn’t Thor.

Yes. YES.

Omg I was thinking about this last weekend!

Black Panther and Ragnarok were both released one after the orher and both deal with the impact of colonialism. If Thor’s character arc revolved more around rejecting his iwn rose-tinted view of Odin, these films would have played off each other so well!

Again, we were robbed!

I wanted to bring awareness to something that has a lot of misconceptions: PTSD.

What is PTSD?

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a psychiatric disorder that can occur in people who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event.

A common misconception is that you have to have been through a war in order to have PTSD. Yes, while war veterans often have PTSD, PTSD can come from anything. PTSD comes from trauma. Anything can be traumatic. Anyone can have PTSD for any kind of reason.

I’m also sick and tired of seeing people use the word trigger as a joke. You know the type. The whole “#triggered lol” thing.

What is a trigger?

A trigger is something that sets off a memory tape or flashback transporting the person back to the event of the original trauma.

It is not

Something that offends you

A joke

Trigger warnings are important. They’re there for a reason. You can take extra minutes out of your day to post trigger warnings. Oh and if you call someone a special snowflake for needing them? Grow up.

I feel like I’m the only one who’s going into this Loki show like a kid waiting for Christmas LOL I don’t know what I’m getting but I’m excited

//friend if you’re able to experience hope and joy at anything in life in any measure, you hold onto that and delight in it without apology.  ❤ i have just gone through so much in the past decade and the most intensely bad of it in the last  two and a half years without respite that anytime fate hands me a “good thing” i inevitably view it with mistrust and try to analyze it for weaknesses and an expiration date.  kind of like Loki, lol.  my basically trauma-response to good news is nothing you should feel obligated to emulate. ❤
