     bring back kindness. re-ignite the old mannerisms of wanting to help each other as role players, not hunt and break each other down for the smallest of mistakes. caring is cool, and it’s time to make it a trend again.

     bring back helpfulness. aid the role players who aren’t as big as you. show support and care on your path as you, too, were that role player at some point in life. include, don’t exclude. make this hobby enjoyable again, show the newcomers that they too have a place among the veterans of this page.

     bring back patience. people will do mistakes, it’s a part of our system, but allow people to make up for what they did. allow people to grow as growing takes time and mistakes can be made up for; there are no judges here, no police, not anyone with the slightest spec of power. we are all people, and threats do not belong here.

     bring back humanity, because tumblr role playing community is running dry.

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

that first gif…. this is absolutely not the first time Thor has started to, or has, beat up Loki

And look at Loki’s face. He almost wants Thor to do it, to carry out that violence. Perhaps because he’s become accustomed to being beaten on or because one pain is a great distraction from another pain.

To me, that expression is one of like, “well? get it over with.” Like Loki had so expected that punch in the face that he didn’t know what to do when Thor stopped himself. That’s the reaction of someone who’s been chronically beaten on.

And then Thor has the freaking audacity to follow that up by saying he wishes he could trust Loki. 🙄

Also:

“She wouldn’t want us to fight,” said the person who initiated the violence.

I actually kind of want to watch every movie over again and chart how many times Thor acts violently towards Loki or any other character versus how many times Loki does. Unfortunately, I don’t have any time. Any takers? For this to be a legitimate data collection, there should be at least 3 people with pre-determined criteria for what constitutes “violence” and all that.

Alright, let’s say anytime one of them:

1. raises their voice -above regular conversational level

2. makes a verbal threat -any words that suggest they plan to do harm

3. raises their fist

4. raises a weapon

5. lunges at the other

6. puts their hands on the other in a way that is not intended to be affectionate

And as a bonus…let’s also include any time one of them says something disparaging about the other, whether it’s to their face or not. 

And then tally the instances of each of those things in all 4 movies in which they appear together.

Ill try to have this done in a week. Does the deleted scenes also count? xD

Let’s count all deleted scenes for all 4 movies. Or none at all. As long as it’s consistent. Although I feel like using all footage would be best.

Awww, thank you so much @juliabohemian for your kind words… I did the first Thor movie according to the criteria. Should I send my list to you, reblog it onto this post, or something else? I’m still new to Tumblr so don’t really know how things work around here. Sorry. 😅

Just wait until you’ve collected all your data and then make a post that just states the criteria and the numbers.

I have never conducted a behavioral study via tumblr before. Only in real life. And the subjects are children. So, I don’t know either.

Loki stares at her brother’s shoulder blades, and the weight they carry.  She’s seated across from him in their joint quarters in Wakanda, oblivious to the Renaissance of supernatural and technological collaboration all around her. There’ll be time enough for that soon.  Right now, for better or worse, it’s her default spiritual mechanism to orbit the Thunder God and fret after his welfare, all while cloaking it as “pragmatism” or “common sense,” or even the far less believable excuse for her sentimentality, “filial duty.” 

    “ … what’ll it take to get you to rest?” she asks, bluntly, into their companionable, familiar silence.

      “I really must insist that you share your oft-hoarded wisdom with me, my lady,” Loki demurs.  “For I’m the son and the daughter of the greatest Witch Asgard ever knew.  Please. In the Allmother’s honor.”

The raven haired she-wolf, clad from neck to toe in mossy green, burnished gold and inky black, trimmed with the pelt of a beast akin to her son Fenrir, lifts her deferent gaze to the Queen of the Fae.  

     “I entreat you to aid me in learning healing magics.  They have ever been my weakness, and it is my wish, in the  days to come, to prove a source of hope to those I love.”  

She  draws a dagger and turns it on her own wrist, awaiting.

    “If a covenant need be made, I am ready.”

They call it the Day of the Dead.  It is a time of feasting and celebration, of putting out flower petals to guide souls home, of great shrines with the likenesses of all the lost loved ones, called an ofrenda.”

She cups Hela’s face, ever cool, ever clammy, in her own, and wills warmth and comfort into her child’s very bones. 

    “Think on that, love!  Tis a celebration of your duties which does not center upon gloom and sadness.”
