// :||||||| I want to hope that the writers of Thor 3 would be more sensitive to trauma than that. But I can’t honestly confirm anything myself. We’ll hope that such a terrible undercurrent is omitted entirely.

Maybe that anon was asking because it has something to do with Lorelei? In the comics, Loki was pretty callous toward Thor over it happening. In the MCU, Lorelei hinted at it in AoS when she and Sif were fighting, and we know that “Odin” wanted Sif to bring her back to Asgard. I really, REALLY hope the MCU doesn’t have Loki being on friendly terms with Lorelei. She’s a serial rapist and that episode of AoS was the worst thing I’ve seen out of the MCU.
//Oosh, that is indeed very disturbing. I will be frank, I know VERY little about Lorelei as a character, though I heard pretty much unilaterally bad reviews of that episode of Agents of SHIELD (I don’t watch AoS so I never watched it firsthand).
((Hi! I luv your metas and I’m sorry if this is a triggering subject (feel free to refuse to answer) but: how would Loki feel about Thor being a victim of rape?))
//Rape is, without one single exception, perhaps the most deplorable thing that one person can do to another person. So my answer to this question is simple.
The Loki that I write, and also the Loki that I interpret from Marvel Cinematic Universe canon, finds rape to be an odious and inexcusable crime. No matter how much he may hate his brother, he would neither seek nor condone Thor being raped. Loki’s own bodily autonomy has been violated so many times, albeit not necessarily in a sexual manner, in the MCU timeline (most notably by Thanos and the Chitauri), as well as physically restrained and/or imprisoned (by Thanos and by Odin), that I cannot imagine him ever thinking of rape as anything but repulsive.
This question honestly concerns me, and I considered not responding to it at all. In the end I chose to answer it specifically in order to make it clear how wrong I think subjecting a character to rape would be, as a form of guidance to my followers. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you asked it with innocent intentions. Do understand that I cannot think of ANY good reason why one would entertain the thought of a character being so profoundly and gratuitously violated. I would advise you to take your mind off of representing rape except in the most condemnatory of manners, if this question came as a hypothetical from someone writing an rp post or fanfiction entertaining a rape scenario.
To all 2,200 of my followers: I roundly condemn any MCU paraphernalia that portrays Thor being molested or raped, with Loki or anyone else as the perpetrator. I roundly condemn any paraphernalia in any form of media that uses rape gratuitously as a tool to “further plot” or “develop character.” Don’t do that. Please just don’t.
Misconception: That Loki fucks horses.
//Oh lord this thing again.
Okay so real talk, folks: just take two seconds to Google the myth of Svalidfari the stallion and Loki’s eight-legged horse son Sleipnir. There you will see CLEARLY that Loki turned into a mare to lure Svalidfari away from a wall that was being built by enemies of Asgard, on behalf of his fellow gods. Loki ran all night to elude Svalidfari, who finally caught up with her, and raped her. Yes, you read right. R A P E D her. Loki did NOT have a hankering for a giant black horse.
The idea of Loki fucking horses is based 100% entirely on Norse mythology. There is a sly reference in the comics to Sleipnir, and an even slier one in the first Thor movie, when Odin rides Sleipnir into Jotunheim to retrieve Thor, Loki, and the Warriors Four from Laufey’s clutches. But nowhere in the MCU is Sleipnir acknowledged to be Loki’s biological son, so the Svalidfari incident didn’t technically ever transpire. I choose to rp that it did, but again, that it was a genuinely horrific experience for Loki, and nothing to joke about.
Regardless? Loki doesn’t have a horse kink, guys. The joke got old way back in 2012. Let’s move on. Rape jokes ain’t funny anyway.
